Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time. (John Lubbock)

You ask me why I dwell in the green mountain;
I smile and make no reply for my heart is free of care.
As the peach-blossom flows down stream and is gone into the unknown, I have a world apart that is not among men.
(The Chinese poet Li Bai 701-762)

This silk painting “Tinh Yeu”, by the contemporary Vietnamese artist Phan Quoc Hung, refers to the story of two young lovers who had to flee because their families wouldn’t allow them to see each other. Since their lives were being threatened, a kindly magician came to the rescue by turning them into two beautiful swans. So they were saved, living as swans during daytime and as humans during the night.

Twenty monks and one young nun were practising meditation under a famous Zen Master.
The nun was very beautiful and before long many of the monks had secretly fallen in love with her.
Only one of them however showed his feelings, by slipping a love letter to her when nobody was looking.
The next day they were all assembled to hear a lecture from the Master.
When it had finished, the nun stood up and, in front of everyone, said to the one who had written to her, “If you really love me, come and embrace me now.”
And the moral of course is - If you love, love openly.
